Greetins to ALL of Hip Hop,
I want to start off this letter by asking that you all excuse me for not sending out the Weekly Dope Emporium Letter last Monday. No excuses
As many have noticed there is alot of activity happening in the Seattle Hip Hop Community. With album releases, video shoots, benefits, community building, newly created showcases and live performances. I would just like to say, "keep up the strong work and don't let politics get in the way what's DOPE!!". And, with ALL the work that's being done, it gives great momentum leading up to the Conference and Dope Emporium stage at UMOJA Festival.
As far as Dope Emporium, we continue to work. The Rooftop Series will take placeas scheduled, July 11th and 25th, at Spoons Urban Apparel on Beacon Hill. The line-up for the July 11th Rooftop event will include Steelo, Santonio Bandanaz, Inkubiz with sounds provided by DJ's Luvva J and Peg. Hosted by Black Stax. The line-up for the 25th is coming together and Orbitron, Infamous, 80P and DJ Gumbaeux have been confirmed.
The process in which we'll begin to select artist to perform on the Dope Emporium Stage during the Conference and UMOJA Festival, will begin Monday, July 6th, 2009. This process will include submissions sent to the Dope Emporium page(myspace.com/dope_emporium). The deadline for final submissions will be Monday, July 13th, 2009. Potential sponsors should also send interest to the Dope Emporium page.
Once we recieve all of the submissions, we will hold an open meeting on Friday, July 17th at Electric Tea Garden. At this meeting we will announce who has submitted material, what vendors and sponsors are interested and the schedule of the Conference. This will be also time for input, suggestions and concerns.
Please, feel free to email me(ecajjace@yahoo.com), if there are any questions or dates you would like to go out in the Weekly Letter. Here is a list of a few events you may want to peep or let people, who need a feel for the Hip Hop Community, get a better understanding of how we get down in the 2-0-6/SEA!!
